CONTROL INSTRUMENTS INTRODUCES THE MODEL 690 BTU CALORIFIC ANALYZER

Fairfield, New Jersey (November 8, 2007) - Control Instruments’ standalone Model 690 BTU Calorific Analyzer optimizes burner efficiencies through measuring and controlling blended gas mixtures. These economical, fully-heated, air aspirator driven assemblies come complete and ready to install. This addition is part of the company’s overall strategy to serve the customer with a complete line of gas detection equipment and provide a variety of technologies appropriate for many different applications.

This analyzer is manufactured for monitoring the heating value and energy content of flammable solvents and combustible gases in the BTU range to measure alternate fuel supplies. It is offered for process monitoring and control and is a direct measurement of calorific value, ranging from 0 to 1100 BTU/ft3.

Our BTU Calorific Analyzer employs a unique theory of operation, a carefully metered flame burns at a constant reference temperature inside an explosion proof measuring cell. A sample, drawn from the atmosphere to be monitored, is passed through the flame cell. A thermocouple measures changes in flame temperature. An increase in temperature is directly proportional to the Calorific Value (BTU).

Features and Benefits of the Model 690:

  • Compact standalone system- integrated controller and sampling system
  • Direct measure of Calorific Value
  • Fast response time < 4 seconds
  • Universal calibration- highly uniform response to a wide variety of combustibles
  • Failsafe system design
  • Not poisoned by process contaminants, water, corrosives, organo-metallics
  • Includes state-of-the-art electronics plus full complement of relays
  • Class 1 Div 1 Flame Cell
  • Advanced self-diagnostics
  • Indoor and outdoor options
