CONTROL INSTRUMENTS
CORP’S SERVICE ENGINEERS EARN ISA CCST CERTIFICATION
Fairfield, New Jersey
(November 2, 2006) -
Control Instruments
Corporation’s service engineers, Steve Menta and Anthony
Alvarez, have earned ISA’s Level III CCST (Certified
Control Systems Technician) certification for
demonstrating outstanding achievement in the field of
Automation & Control.
ISA
established the Certified Control Systems Technician
(CCST) program in 1995 to recognize and document
technicians’ knowledge, education and experience in
automation and control systems. The CCST program was
validated and designed for control system technicians
who work in a variety of manufacturing industries for
industry-wide recognition. The program offers three
levels of certification with varying education and
experience requirements. Both Steve and Tony have earned
the highest level, Level III, requiring thirteen years
education, training, and/or work experience with at
least five years in instrumentation/measurement and
control.
The
CCST exams cover seven performance areas including
Calibration, Loop Checking, Troubleshooting, Start-up,
Maintenance/Repair, Project Organization and
Administration. The exams are performance based,
allowing only persons with certain levels of education
and experience to pass the exam because of the knowledge
they have gained through that education and especially
through work experience, not through memorization of
codes and theory.
Steve
and Tony’s certification enhances CIC’s Service
Department’s in-depth knowledge of how our products
interface with our customers’ additional equipment. This
helps us provide cost effect servicing of our systems
which reduces customer downtime even during routine
preventative maintenance jobs. Both service engineers
worked extremely hard to pass their exams and plan on
keeping up with the renewal process outlined by ISA,
“CCST’s must renew their certification every three
years. This is accomplished by earning Professional
Development Points (PDPs) by working, training, and
continually gaining knowledge in the field.”
As
always, Control Instruments provides a variety of
cost-effective field support including; preventative
maintenance contracts, start-up assistance to provide
proper installation, on-site field service to diagnose,
inspect and repair your system, as well as training in
system operation, maintenance, trouble shooting and
safety education. In addition, all of our spare parts
are always new and readily available.
