Title:
Poison-Tolerant Catalytic
Sensor for Flammable Gas & Vapor Detection Brochure
Summary:
The brochure for Control
Instruments’ Catalytic sensor has been updated to
reflect the most accurate and up-to-date features and
specifications. Our catalytic sensor sets a new standard
for safe, reliable, and accurate flammable gas detection
in all kinds of environments. It’s fast response time,
high linearity and long-life design is an ideal choice
for a wide variety of area monitoring and other
applications. In addition to its unique tolerance to
silicones, plasticizers, and other inhibiting poisons
the following features make it superior:
§
Fast,
Accurate, Reliable Under All Conditions
– Designed to give you
stable, true readings whatever the ambient environment,
including sudden changes in temperature, pressure, and
humidity. Uses the diffusion sampling method to achieve
response time within FM and ISA standards. An optional
drawn sample assembly is also available.
§
The Best
Poison Resistance in a Catalytic Sensor
– The sensor has an advanced, proprietary design that
gives superior tolerance against effects of a wide range
or poisons and inhibitors. It doesn’t degrade quickly
because of element coating or corrosion and is highly
resistant to silicones and organometallics, halogenated
hydrocarbons and halogen compounds, as well as sulfur
compounds.
§
Long Life,
Reduced Maintenance
– Enhanced poison tolerance offers less downtime, lower
maintenance and replacement costs and reduces schedule
for calibration checks.
§
Explosion
Proof Design and Construction
– Designed for uniformly dependable performance under a
range of extreme conditions. All electronics in the
sensor assembly are potted to minimize exposure to the
environment. Sensor bodies are constructed of either
aluminum or stainless steel, which makes it resistant to
corrosive elements, salt atmospheres and durable in high
temperature conditions. Can be installed indoor or
outdoors.
§
Highly
Effective for Area Monitoring
– Excellent for flammable gas monitoring in many
applications including: open zone monitoring,
chemical/petrochemical plants, drilling rigs, production
platforms, gas processing plants, waste water
facilities, refineries, storage tanks, and pulp mills.
The sensor detects a hazardous condition by direct
sampling of the atmosphere through the sensor flame
arrestor. There are no moving parts or pumps.
