NEW LITERATURE ANNOUNCEMENT

Tile:

The National Fire Protection Association revises NFPA 86, the Standard for Oven and Furnaces.

Summary:

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) establishes fire safety standards, including standards for the safe operation of processes. NFPA 86, the Standard for Ovens and Furnaces, addresses the safe operation of Class A and B ovens or furnaces. A new edition of NFPA 86 was approved as an American National Standard on August 7, 2003. While the standard’s basic philosophy has not changed, the new standard contains revisions and clarifications regarding the requirement for continuous solvent vapor analyzers.

The revisions have been incorporated into Control Instruments application notes: Understanding NFPA 86-2003: Safety Ventilation & Continuous LFL Monitoring  and How to Select a Continuous Solvent Vapor Monitor to Meet NFPA 86-2003 requirements.

You can also obtain a copy of NFPA 86-2003 from the National Fire Protection Association, call toll free to order: 1-800-344-3555.
