Regulations prohibit facilities from discharging
flammable or explosive wastes from their processes into the
wastewater collection system. These wastes are not only a fire and
explosion hazard but they can also effect the efficient and
effective operation of the treatment facility. PrevEx Flammability
analyzers are used to continuously monitor the waste stream for
flammable gases and vapors. Their unique design and operating
technology make them the ideal analyzers for the harsh conditions
found in the sewer environment.
Wastewater treatment plants present a high potential for the
existence of hazardous conditions arising from combustible gases,
toxic gases and oxygen deficiency. The potential hazards can result
in catastrophic property loss as well as in safety and health
problems for personnel. Our SmartMaxII systems equipped with
catalytic or electrochemical sensors are used to continuously
monitor the area of the treatment plant for methane, chlorine,
hydrogen sulfide and oxygen deficiency. These areas include: pump
rooms, screen chambers, wet wells, grit pump & wash areas, chlorine
storage & metering area and other work areas. Each SmartMaxII
system continuously monitors and controls up to 4 independent
sensors while displaying multiple systems remotely.
Examples of wastewater applications including: Wastewater treatment
plants, petrochemical refineries, waste gas, chemical industry,
pharmaceutical industry, POTW’s (Public Owned
Treatment Works), and industrial wastewater. |
