Last week we discussed the age of an LFL system, now let’s focus our upgrade discussion on another important issue that effects the efficiency and productivity of your system.

  • Does your system offer you the latest in digital communication and predictive maintenance?

Plant Engineering Magazine recently published a step-by-step guide for a systematic approach to performing an upgrade. One of the critical first steps is doing a “technical fit analysis” or assessing the impact the upgrade will have on the overall system architecture and how the new functionalities will change the user experience.

Technology has come a long way since we released our first LFL system into the marketplace, there are now ways to communicate between instrument and user that improve both operating and maintaining an analyzer and even eliminate many manual adjustments:

  • Ethernet connectivity
  • On-board diagnostics for preventative maintenance & troubleshooting
  • Automatic calibration & ignition

Its important that your LFL system offers the most up-to date advancements in both software and hardware platforms, if you feel there’s room for improvement, it might be time for a systematic upgrade.
