Happy Manufacturing Day! What, you didn't know there was a day devoted to an industry that was once the backbone of our great nation?  Surprise, surprise there is...and there are 1,613 MFG DAY events planned to celebrate it in 2014.

"MFG DAY addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. By working together during and after MFG DAY, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry."

"Supported by a group of industry sponsors and co-producers, MFG DAY is designed to amplify the voice of individual manufacturers and coordinate a collective chorus of manufacturers with common concerns and challenges. The rallying point for a growing mass movement, MFG DAY empowers manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive."

Manufacturing enables our everyday lives, drives our economy, and offers many different rewarding careers. People often want to point out the things manufacturing isn't but here are some of the great things it still is:

  • Manufacturing supports 17.4 Million U.S. Jobs
  • Manufacturing offers diverse career opportunities, including engineers, designers, machinists, computer programmers, sales & Marketing professions, human resources and so much more.
  • US manufacturing is the 8th largest economy in the world, it comprises 12.5% of our GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and 68% accounts for U.S. Research and Development

Find an event in your area and support an industry of which we are very proud to be a member.
